The drive

Winning. it's not everything, they say, but don't tell our attorneys that.  Quite simply, Babcock Partners wants to win and that passion spills over into every case we accept.  In most of our cases, we carry the same financial interest in the case as our clients, in that we get paid if our client does.  The firm was founded on the concept of creating a results oriented law firm that would accept a limited number of cases and obtain great results for our clients.  We have remained true to our word.  We accept less than 5% of the cases we are presented with, but those with cases that make it into that 5% tend to be a pretty satisfied group of people and businesses.  To perpetuate this goal the law firm emphasizes uncharacteristically high quality legal work with a razor sharp focus and no room for inefficiencies. 

 

The bench experience

The unfortunate reality is that all too often, lawyers and clients do not like going to court, and would much rather settle cases quickly—whether or not that is ultimately best for their client. Babcock Partners’ attorneys are always tanned, rested and ready to take matters to the courtroom. We truly love trying cases. What’s more, our adversaries realize this, and know we mean business.

Having said that, we are by no means trigger-happy and promise to provide you with all the information you need to determine whether or not your matter will fare best at trial or by alternative resolution.

Our record says it all. In the last year or so, we have been involved in 8 figures worth of jury verdicts and arbitration awards in the state of Louisiana. During the same time frame, the firm settled millions of dollars worth of cases—in part because opposing counsel knew we were prepared to put our clients’ cases before the jury.

The fact that Babcock Partners represents both plaintiffs and defendants also greatly helps our clients. We believe that such up-close familiarity with each side gives us exceptional insight into what motivates our opponents at every turn.  Some law firms boast that they only represent plaintiffs, or only represent defendants.  We simply do not understand that mentality; one skill should always sharpen the other.


Different breed of lawyers

Very often we find ourselves in a David and Goliath situation with opposing counsel being from a firm with 200+ lawyers.  While those firms are busy being distracted with discovery motions and leveraging their associates’ billable hours, we are getting ready for trial.

We have found that our approach allows the firm to handle cases from the simplest matters to the most complex matters in an efficient yet particularly effective way.
